Privacy policy

The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of legal provisions (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this privacy policy, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within the scope of our website.

WordPress Multi Language – WPML

WPML uses cookies to identify the visitor’s current language, the last visited language and the language of users who have logged in.

While you use the plugin, WPML will share data regarding the site through Installer. No data from the user itself will be shared.

Relevanssi – Search Plugin

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

All searches performed using the internal site search are logged in the database, including the following information: the search query, the number of hits found, user ID for users who are logged in and date and time.

How long we retain your data

The search logs are stored indefinitely.

Server Log Files

When you access our website, the browser used on your end device automatically sends information to the server of our webspace provider. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file.

1. Categories of Data Collected: The following data is collected and stored without your intervention:

  • The IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • Browser type and version, as well as the operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page, if transmitted)

2. Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing: This data is processed to ensure the technical functionality and information security of our websites, in particular for the detection and defense against cyber attacks and for error analysis. The storage also serves statistical evaluations for optimizing our offer. The legal basis for this data processing is our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest results from the stated purposes of data collection. Under no circumstances do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person, unless there are concrete indications of illegal use.

3. Processor and Storage Period: We use the services of Netsense as a webspace provider. A contract for order processing according to Art. 28 GDPR exists with Netsense. The log data will be deleted at the latest after 3 months (or other time specifications depending on the host) (upon expiration of the last backup), unless further storage for evidence purposes is required in the event of a specific security incident. Data whose further retention is necessary for evidence purposes is excluded from deletion until the final clarification of the respective incident.

4. Right to Object: Since the collection of the data is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website and the legitimate interest prevails (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR), there is no direct right to object to this specific data processing.

Matomo Analysis Tool

We use the open-source web analytics software Matomo on this website for the statistical evaluation of visitor access. We operate this software exclusively on our own server (under the responsibility of the website operator). Matomo is operated without cookies. This ensures that no data is passed on to third parties.

Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing: The processing takes place on the basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the statistical analysis for optimizing user-friendliness and for designing our information offer to meet demand.

Processed Data and Anonymization: For the technical retrieval of our website content, the web server must necessarily process your IP address. The Matomo software receives this IP address, but it is immediately and irrevocably anonymized as soon as technically possible after collection (usually by deleting the last two bytes). Matomo then records the following basic usage data: the page accessed, the time spent, devices and browsers used, the operating system, and the referring page (referrer).

Since the data, due to this immediate and irrevocable anonymization, is no longer referable to your person, it is considered non-personal data. Consequently, an access, rectification, or erasure of this anonymized data by the user is not possible, as a unique assignment can no longer be made.

Your Rights

You generally have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent, and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been violated in any way, you can contact us at any time.

The competent supervisory authority in Austria is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).
